The current generation Ford Flex is designed and produced based on the Ford’s Taurus and Edge cross over SUVs. For 2009 it is offered in three trim versions, the base model SE, mid-level SEL and up-level Limited. The four-door wagon base model is offered in front wheel drive, while the other models are offered in all wheel drive. The 2009 Ford Flex AWD model has the seating capacity to accommodate up to 7-passengers.

The only engine available to the 2009 Ford Flex AWD include 3.5 liter DOHC V6 that delivers 262 hp at 6250 rpm and torque of 248 lb ft at 4500 rpm. It is mated to only available 6-speed automatic transmission.

Standard Features

The features offered as standard on all the models include capless fuel filler, Ford’s Sync voice activated system that controls MP3 players and cell phones, rear view camera, navigation system with weather and real time updates, refrigerated center console and four panel glass roof. The safety features available in the 2009 Ford Flex AWD model include curtain side air bags, front side air bags, antilock braking system, antiskid system and traction control.
